Jamesport is a census-designated place (CDP) and hamlet in the Town of Riverhead in Suffolk County, New York, United States. The CDP's population was 1,710 at the 2010 census.[2]

Jamesport is known for its quaint downtown area including antique shops and a handful of fine restaurants. The population of the hamlet grows considerably during the summer months due to the influx of day-tourists and vacationers taking advantage of the Great Peconic Bay beaches located on the south side of the hamlet. During the late summer/fall months, the hamlet is busy once again, due to "pumpkin pickers", "wine tasters", and other tourists taking in the beautiful fall scenery Jamesport has to offer. Jamesport is home to many farms including sod, pumpkin, flower, potato and wineries. Jamesport State Park is located north of Jamesport in the adjacent hamlet of Northville. A 2010 park master plan called for it to be renamed the "Hallock State Park Preserve".[3]

According to the United States Census Bureau, the CDP has a total area of 4.5 square miles (11.7 km2), of which 4.5 square miles (11.6 km2) is land and 0.039 square miles (0.1 km2), or 0.60%, is water.[2]

Senior Alert Systems and Medical Alert Devices FAQ

      1. Do You want a Home-Based or Mobile System?

Initially, medical alert systems were created to work inside your home, with your landline telephone.

And you can still go that route. Lots of companies also now use the option of home-based systems that work over a cellular network, for those who may not have a landline.

With these systems, pressing the wearable call button enables you to speak with a dispatcher through a base unit situated in your home.

Numerous companies use mobile choices, too. You can use these systems in the house, but they’ll likewise allow you to call for help while you’re out and about.

These run over cellular networks and incorporate GPS innovation. By doing this, if you get lost or push the call button for aid but are unable to talk, the tracking service can find you.

      1. Should You Add a Fall-Detection Feature?

Some companies offer the option of automatic fall detection, for an additional monthly fee. Manufacturers say these devices sense falls when they occur and automatically contact the dispatch center, just as they would if you had pressed the call button.

      1. Whats the Cost?

Fees. Beware of complicated pricing plans and hidden fees. Look for a company with no extra fees related to equipment, shipping, installation, activation, or service and repair. Don’t fall for scams that offer free service or “donated or used” equipment.
Contracts. You should not have to enter into a long-term contract. You should only have to pay ongoing monthly fees, which should range between $25 and $45 a month (about $1 a day). Be careful about paying for service in advance, since you never know when you’ll need to stop the service temporarily (due to a hospitalization, for instance) or permanently.
Guarantee and cancellation policies. Look for a full money-back guarantee, or at least a trial period, in case you are not satisfied with the service. And you’ll want the ability to cancel at any time with no penalties (and a full refund if monthly fees have already been paid).
Discounts. Ask about discounts for multiple people in the same household, as well as for veterans, membership organizations, medical insurance or via a hospital, medical or care organization. Ask if the company offers any discount options or a sliding fee scale for people with lower incomes.
Insurance. For the most part, Medicare and private insurance companies will not cover the costs of a medical alert. In some states Medicaid may cover all or part of the cost. You can check with your private insurance company to see if it offers discounts or referrals.
Tax deductions. Check with your tax professional to find out if the cost of a medical alert is tax deductible as a medically necessary expense.

Senior Alert Systems and Medical Alert Devices FAQ

Initially, medical alert systems were designed to work inside your home, with your landline telephone.

With these systems, pushing the wearable call button allows you to speak with a dispatcher through a base system situated in your home.

But many business use mobile options, too. You can utilize these systems at home, however they’ll likewise allow you to call for help while you’re out and about.

These run over cellular networks and integrate GPS technology. This way, if you get lost or press the call button for assistance however are unable to talk, the tracking service can locate you.

He gradually bought more land and formed the Howard Estates Development Company in 1909. He dredged and filled the land until he was able to accumulate 500 acres (2 km²) by 1914. He laid out several streets, water mains and gas mains, and built 35 houses that were priced in the $2,500–$5,000 range.
